With the
completion of your franchise system and the granting of your first
franchises you will face a new role in business. Managing the
relationships as well as the business can, at times, be
challenging.
Your 'family' of Franchisees will also be working hard to comply
with all of the things that are new to them as well as running
their new business. This environment for both of you is at
times tense and will require a firm, decisive and yet consultative
stance in respect to operational and policy development issues.
In the past, and still today, we have found that our services are
valuable to clients well beyond the completion of the project to
initially develop and document their business system.
We provide a Franchise Coach Service that can be tailored to
suit your specific circumstances and needs. Typically, we are
a 'sounding board' for issues relating to the process of recruiting
Franchisees or the further development of your group and some
operational/policy matters. With extensive experience in the sector
we are a valuable resource and we believe it is important that you
are able to tap into this resource - it could save you time
and unnecessary stress; as well as money. It is not expensive and
we value the ongoing relationship considerably by becoming a part
of your team.
At times the relationship between Franchisor and Franchisee can
become difficult. Managing the resolution of these
difficulties is the difference between a good Franchisor and one
who struggles.
Both parties are in business (independently and yet together), and
this relationship must be respected for that reason alone.
Rights and obligations are spelled out in the franchise
agreement, however it is wise to manage any issues to resolution
rather than simply rely on the clinical written words in the
contract.
As your franchise matures you will identify issues that may require
some amendment to the original operational methods. This,
too, will require your best management skills to see the continuing
evolution of the business passed on to all in the system, both
effectively and without undue interruption to operations.
